    1. Please see the excerpt below from the Student Handbook. Disciplinary action is handled case-by-case and may include detention, in-school suspension, or out-of-school suspension. If you have further questions, please feel free to contact our administrative staff.

       Fighting; instigating a fight; pushing; shoving; wrestling; horseplay; play fighting; and other types of aggressive or potentially dangerous behavior
       Bullying by exhibiting repeated negative behavior targeting a specific victim. Bullying behavior may include, but is not limited to, threats, verbal and written, physical abuse, or harassment in the form of ethnic or gender slurs.
       Causing or attempting to damage school or personal property
       Conduct that endangers self or others
       Cursing or verbally abusing any person
       Disobedience or defiance of any staff members
       Disruption of the school‟s program or activities
       Possession of any weapon at school, on a school bus or at a school bus stop
       Dishonesty, forgery, and theft
       Selling or trading items without school permission. All items being sold will be confiscated until claimed by a parent.
       Consuming food/beverages outside of the cafeteria (unless given specific permission by an adult)
       Physical display of affection
       Verbal or written threats made directly or indirectly to a person or against the school

  3. My son is transferring from Spotsylvania County public school to Fredericksburg City School because we moved.I am not aware that you have to pay tuition fee to attend Fredericksburg City School. What if a parent don’t have the resources to pay for their kids?

    1. If you are residing within the city of Fredericksburg, there is no tuition fee for attendance. Please contact our Guidance Office at 372-1145 after August 7 to set up an appointment to register your son. Welcome to Walker-Grant Middle School. We look forward to meeting you and your son very soon.

  4. When will the bus schedule be posted as I am trying to make appropriate arrangements after school for my child prior to the start of the school year?

    Also, is there a list online of after school child care programs that pick up and drop off from Walker Grant for the 6th graders?

    It would be really helpful for the working parents of incoming 6th graders to have easy access to this information online.

    1. Bus schedules are typically posted online in late August. A contracted before and after school program operates out of Hugh Mercer Elementary, with bus transportation provided. The contact information for the SAC program is: (540) 376-7926, sacadmin@minnieland.com. Bus transportation is also available to private day care facilities within city limits.

    1. I’m sorry, but student schedules are built with consideration for courses requested/required rather than requests for specific teachers. Schedules will be distributed during orientation on August 31, and change request forms will be available if needed.
