Free sports physicals are being offered by Mary Washington Healthcare BY APPOINTMENT on Thursday, July 18, between 5 and 8pm at James Monroe High School. Please call HealthLink at 540-741-1404 or 800-722-2788 to schedule an appointment. Students must bring a 2013 VHSL physical form with parts 1 and 2 completed and signed by a parent or guardian. Current physicals are required for participation in any sport at WGMS.

WGMS ODYSSEY OF THE MIND

Walker-Grant had four Odyssey of the Mind teams place in the recent regional tournament. Teams earning second place wins were: “Art-chitecture” – members Helen Rathgeb, Rian Blakesley, Olivia Oakley, Lauren Shelton, Jack Owens, Andrew Kolar, and McCray Fidler; and “Tumblewood” – members Jabe Barnett, Jesse Dominguez, Zion Latney, Isaac Lucas, Greg Mann, Jordan Ridderhof, and Cameron Woodard. The following teams had first place wins and will compete in the upcoming state meet in April: “It’s How You Look at It” – members Mitch Dolby, Anna Slominski, Caroline Wack, Will Bowles, Claire Rehm, Quinn Bonney, and Terence McKenzie; and “The E-Mail Must Go Through” – members Katie Kingsley, Aine Concepcion, Camila Medina, Aaron O’Donnell, Jake Hicks, Eva Heller, and Mary Michael Middleton.
