JM Cheerleading Tryouts for 8th Graders

JM cheerleading tryouts are open to 8th graders.  Tryouts will be held on May 23-26 at JM from 3:00-5:30.  Transportation to JM and home will be provided.  A current VHSL physical must be on file before tryouts.  An interest meeting is scheduled for Wednesday, May 4, at 6:30pm in the JM Lecture Hall.  See Mrs. Silver with any questions.

Cross Country at JMHS

8th graders interested in running cross country at JMHS, please plan to attend an organizational meeting on Tuesday, May 10, in room 215 at JMHS.  Meeting times are 3pm and 6pm.  You may attend either session.

Spring Game Results

BOYS’ LACROSSE:

3/15 – The boys’ lacrosse team lost a close game against Fredericksburg Academy 8-9.  Mach Holland had 3 goals, Peyton King had 5 goals.  New goalie Luke Hancock had many saves, and Matthew Hargrove had great saves at face offs.

3/22 – Congratulations to the boy’s LAX team for winning 8-6 over Culpeper.  Goals were scored by Peyton King (4), Mac Holland (3), and Matthew Hargrove.  Luke Hancock made numerous saves for the Tigers.

4/11 – The boys’ team defeated Benedictine 9-2.  Mac Holland had 5 goals, Peyton King 2 goals, Aidan Conway and Matt Hargrove 1 each.  Defense played an excellent game.

GIRLS’ LACROSSE:

3/15 – The girls’ lacrosse team lost to Fredericksburg Academy 6-9.  Taylor Hough, Delia Rabatin, Claire Brady, and Evan Battista made one goal each, and Grace Marchosky scored 2.  Kayleigh Smith saved many goals.

3/22 – Congratulations to the Girls’ LAX team on their 12-3 win over Culpeper.  Goals were scored by Carrie Stinchcomb (3), Dagny Oakley (2), Adia Ellis (2), Taylor Hough (1), Sarah Miller-Richards (1), Delia Rabatin (1), Amelie Arbaiza (1), and Gracy Marchosky (1).  Goalie Kayleigh Smith had several great saves!

4/6 – The girls’ team won 11-5 over Holy Cross Academy.

4/15 – The Lady Tigers lost to St. Gertrude’s 9-5. Sarah Miller-Richards scored one goal and Delia Rabatin scored 4 goals.  Goalie Riley Zuniga had 12 saves.

The girls’ team won 10-7 over the Spotsylvania Ravens. Goalie Riley Zuniga played great defense with 7 saves!  Goals were scored by the following:  Grace Marchosky (2), Adia Ellis (1), Dagny Oakey (1), Delia Rabatin (1), Sarah Miller-Richards (3), and Claire Brady (2).

GIRLS’ SOFTBALL:

4/6 – The team fought long and hard against Caroline and led the scoreboard through the 6th inning.

4/14 – Congratulations to the softball team for both two wins against Buford, 10-3 and 11-0.  Shannon Teri scored a homeroom in the first game.

 

BOYS’ BASEBALL:

4/6 – The team defeated Caroline Middle School 16-3.  Congratulations!

4/19 – The baseball team defeated Highland 11-2, led by Joe Hardy’s 7 strikeouts at pitcher.

PARENTAL TRANSPORT FROM GAMES

Parental transport of student athletes from athletic events requires prior written notice to the principal.  Permission must be requested for each game individually.
