At approximately 6:00 AM every day all FCPS Email users will receive an auto generated email from our Anti-SPAM server. The email will have a subject of GFI MailEssentials Quarantine Digest. This email will list all suspected SPAM that was delivered to your mailbox within the last 24 hours. This email will allow you to approve and /or whitelist any false positives emails. The page this email displays is intuitive and you should not have trouble using it. You should view this email and Approve or Whitelist any false positive emails on a daily basis after viewing and processing your false positives feel free to delete the GFI MailEssentials Quarantine Digest email. SPAM caught in the GFI MailEssentials Quarantine Digest will be retained in Quarantine for a period of 21 days after 21 days the SPAM is deleted to make room for new SPAM. Once the SPAM is deleted it will not be accessible for Approval or Whitelisting. As of this new process you will no longer need to contact Technology regarding legitimate emails being blocked as SPAM, you have the ability to Approve and Whitelist any email sent to your email address and caught in the SPAM Filters.

To whitelist an address simply select the hyperlink under the heading labeled Subject in the email. The page displayed will allow you to select, approve and/or whitelist the sender. Approve will move the email from Quarantine Storage to your inbox. Whitelist will send the email to your inbox and allow email from the sender’s address to bypass the SPAM filters in the future. You can also open the email to preview it while it is quarantine without fear of launching a virus or malware by clicking on the Subject.

Please be certain that the email you whitelist is actually an address of a person or company you wish to conduct business with. This can be verified by opening the email in the GFI report and confirming it is legit.

In addition, to monitor the GFI MailEssentials Quarantine Digest in real-time use the link located in the bottom left corner of the daily of the GFI MailEssentials Quarantine Digest email.

Inspiration

Description

Inspiration is concept-mapping software that allows users to create simple to advanced concept maps and flowcharts on the fly. It can be used across the curricula and is a great way to bring together other technologies, such as multimedia files, Office files and web sites.

Curriculum Connections

Inspiration can be used in any class. It allows students to quickly compare thoughts and ideas or to create meaning between concepts or actions. Information can be added and organized in a linear fashion or however the end user prefers. This allows students to create and manipulate content in a manner which makes the most sense to them. Once the information is created in diagram view, the user can transfer the information to an outline, and finally export to Microsoft Word where they can finish typing their piece if they choose. *Please note: Inspiration software comes with work-at-home rights for teachers. Contact your ITRT for more information.

Equipment Needed
•Inspiration 7+ software
•Microphone headsets (optional): if you would like to have students record narration on their diagrams

5. It may take a moment for the Save window to appear so don’t panic if it looks like Office freezes. Once the Save box opens, Copy the URL location in the address bar.

SkyDrive

SkyDrive: Get started

SkyDrive is your password-protected hard drive in the cloud. That means you can use it to store thousands and thousands of files. Then you can get to them anytime you’re online.

You probably already have ways to move files around. But the traditional ways involve USB thumb drives that can get lost and file versions that are out of date. And you have to remember to copy the files you need. If you put your files on SkyDrive, you don’t need a good memory or good luck. Your files are always right there.

And if you want to share your files, you can—whether that’s emailing a photo album or collaborating with a group on Word docs, Excel spreadsheets, and other Office files. Click the other tabs to see how easy it is.
