Reading for Pizza!
Each nine weeks my English classes complete for a pizza party. Students are required to read for twenty minutes per night Monday through Thursday and complete a two sentence summary each night. At the end of the nine weeks, the class that has read the most minutes per student gets a pizza party on me!
Additional minutes that are read each night are certainly encouraged and do count towards minutes read each week. Some students are even reading an hour each night! Reading Rocks!
