The Department of Operations encompasses several areas that are required for the daily operation of the school division. Each of the areas listed below reports to the Director.

Transportation- Our school buses and cars take our students daily to and from the five school sites as well as facilities in Spotsylvania, Richmond, and Culpeper. Transportation also covers the majority of field trips, athletic contests, and academic travel throughout the year. The Maintenance Department is responsible for all building maintenance, building repairs, HVAC, supplies, and grounds at each of our facilities. Contacts for Maintenance are: Mr. James Carneal, Supervisor of Maintenance and Mr. Herbert Boutchyard (if Mr. Carneal is unavailable) – (540) 372-1114.

The Operations Department is also responsible for policy updates and regulations, energy management systems, discipline committee hearings and placements, compliance issues, construction projects, school safety, publications, and capital improvements. Mr. Robert J. Burch, Sr. is the current Director of Operations and may be reached at (540) 372-1092. Mrs. Susan Banks is the current Secretary to the Director and can be reached at the same number.
