As we start the 4th week of classes, students in all classes have already turned in their personal narrative essays for use with college applications.
AP classes are finishing discussion and analysis of I Know Why the Caged Bird Sings and are preparing for their first test of the year. They will then begin a unit on Anglo-Saxon literature, as well as work on the novel Heart of Darkness.
English 12 classes have just finished their Anglo-Saxon Unit and are starting on the Middle Ages while also reading the novel The Time Machine as a social metaphor/allegory.
As we start Week 3 of the first term, all my classes are busily working on personal narrative essays suitable for use with college applications. Novels are being discussed, and group activities are taking place. Welcome to the start of our first full week of classes! We have exciting work ahead of us. Interims will be sent home on Sept. 23rd, so it is most important that students quickly become engaged in our instruction and keep up with all assignments.
