Robotics Club Afterschool Program

Greetings LUES Parents and Guardians,

The LUES Robocat Robotics teams are back!   Check out the Robotics Flyer 2017-2018. We are currently seeking applications for the team(s).  Returning members will also need to complete an application.  Applications are posted below or you can pick up a copy in the LUES main office.

This year we are inviting students aged 9-12 from LUES to join this team, to participate in team meetings, robotic competitions, community events, and work with industry mentors.  Each Wednesday, starting 9/27/2017 at 3:15 pm, LUES will host the Robotics teams meetings.  All meetings will be held in Room 117 (Gifted lab/classroom).  Please note that applications will need to be completed in full and turned in to the office for review.  Parent support and attendance is encouraged.  Meetings should last for 60-90 minutes and transportation will be required for participating students.  Please note we will be asking for some parent volunteers to come in and help support.  Please also note, this is a team rather than a club.  The Robotics team is a larger commitment from students.

The team will participate in the Hydrodynamics First Lego League challenge. General information can be found at www.firstlegoleague.org/challenge. We are planning to compete in the Stafford County tournament at Dixon-Smith Middle school on November 18th.
