The JMHS School Community:
This week is a very important time for our students as we will commence Mid-term Exams tomorrow. We are asking for all students to arrive to school and to each class on time. Our bell schedule will be slightly altered in order to make sure that we provide ample time for each student to complete these important assessments. Exams begin on Tuesday, November 1, 2011, and will run for the entire week. Our make-up exam day is scheduled for Monday, november 7, 2011. Please check the exam schedule that is posted on the Website.
Help us help your student be successful by making sure they study diligently, get a good night’s rest, and eat breakfast on their exam days.
Thank you for all that you do!!!!!
The JMHS School Community:
I wanted to take this time to address the editorial and police response that was printed in the FreeLance Star today. Fredericksburg City Police have informed us that we may no longer ticket students that drive to school and decide to park on the city streets instead of in the student parking lots.
As was printed in the August/September newsletter, school website, and on the parking permit applications, all students that drive to school must park in the student parking lot and must pay for a parking permit. Students are not allowed to park on the streets designated for Bunker Hill Civic Association Residents, or on the streets surrounding the Chamber of Commerce. Parking on school property is much safer for our students and their vehicles than parking on the side streets. We hope that all will continue to abide by this most important school policy.
Your cooperation in this matter is greatly appreciated.
The JMHS Family:
First of all I would like to take this time to thank all of my teachers and staff for an excellent first month. Yesterday, I had my first Principal’s Coffee and I was amazed at the total number of visitors that arrived. The food was excellent as usual, and we had a lot of great discussion about the exciting things that are happening at The JMHS.
Next week we will be out of school on Monday, October 10, 2011 in observance of Columbus Day. October 11th-October 14th are Benchmark Exams, and on October 12th we will take the PSAT. This is also a reminder to parents that Interims will be distributed on October 14th. Please also check your student’s progress through our parent portal.
The week of October 17th-October 21st is our Homecoming Spirit Week, culminating with the Homecoming Football Game vs. Courtland and the Homecoming Dance on October 22nd. I hope many of you will be in attendance.
Please keep supporting your students and The JMHS. As long as we work together, I am sure we will have an exceptional year!!!
WE ARE THE JAMES MONROE!!!!
