Homecoming Week

This week is Homecoming week at JMHS. Our students have enjoyed twin day, Michael Jackson tribute day, and today are Color Wars. Each class and the faculty are to wear a certain color, and the kids are really having a great time with the competition.

I also want to take this time to credit our students for getting to school and class on time. We have had a total of three clean sweeps this year and our students understand the importance of punctuality. Just to clarify, a clean sweep tardy is different from the normal tardy matrix. Our students determine when we will have a clean sweep as it is based on the number of students in the hall. Those students that have been caught in a clean sweep have been issued one day of in-school suspension. We have not had any students caught in multiple clean sweeps. For more information, please visit the announcements section of our webpage or review your August newsletter. I will also re-send out this explanation of clean sweeps in our November newsletter.

Please keep your fingers crossed for good weather this weekend as we want to make sure our students end the homecoming week on a positive note!!

Back to School Night

Tonight is Back to School Night for JMHS. We will begin at 6:30 P.M. with a brief overview in the Auditorium. All parents will then move to their student’s classes for ten minute periods. This will allow teachers to give a brief synopsis of class expectations. We will conclude our program at approximately 8:15 P.M.

Tomorrow, October 2, 2009, Interims will be distributed. Please make sure all parents sign the interims and return them to school on Monday.
