Today we had our first session of the Cortez Drop Out Prevention Program, and I was very impressed with the engagement from our students. We will hold monthly meetings in order to discuss with our students the importance of the PSAT, SAT, Personal Finance, and Career Opportunities. We are doing whatever it takes to lower our Drop Out Rate and have our students better prepared for life after high school.
On another note, as the weather begins to change, I want to reinforce the importance of making sure that our students take care of their health. Please make sure that everyone washes their hands regularly, uses the hand sanitizer and if you have signs of any type of flu or sickness, please go to the doctor. We do not want the germs to spread.
Take care and come to the Field Hockey game this Friday as we take on Courtland.
Jayem Pride!!!
First of all I want to give a huge congrats to all Jayem students for a job well done so far this year. Students are getting to class on time, have participated in our grade level and our Male/Female Only Assemblies.
We want to make sure that our students understand the importance of respect and responsibility and we want to reward them for a job well done.
Beginning tomorrow, Thursday 9/17/09, the side door closest to the Tennis Courts and near the student parking lot will be open for student entry from 7:30 A.M. to 7:45 A.M. We are going to assist our students who drive and are following the rules in getting to class on time and therefore give them the opportunity of having a shorter walk.
Thank you to all for a job well done!!!!
Yesterday we welcomed back 822 students for the 2009-2010 school year. We had a great day of instruction, fun, and energy. All of our Jayem News Bulletin Boards are up and the hallways have been named for James Monroe School Pride. We have more spirit projects to come, and all of our students are excited to be back. Go Jackets!!!
Yesterday we welcomed back all of our teachers and introduced five new members to the Jayem family. Our entire staff is excited and ready for the new school year and we all can’t wait for the students to arrive on September 8, 2009. We want to remind everyone that we are going to have the best year in Jayem history and it is important for our students to get off to a good start!!!
See you at the Meet the Principal Meetings on September 3, Session 1 4-5 P.M., Session 2, 5-6 P.M.
