Stephanie Teri Primary Years Program Coordinator Dashboard I have been a Hugh Mercer Patriot for almost 17 years. That is a very long time! I love the students and staff at Hugh Mercer Elementary, and feel very blessed to be a member of the Hugh Mercer family. I am very excited that we are a candidate school for the International Baccalaureate® Primary Years Program. My job is to help teachers and scholars with inquiry learning and literacy. I received my teaching degree from East Tennessee State University. I went on to get my Master’s in Administration from Virginia Commonwealth University and my Reading Specialist certification from the University of Mary Washington. I am a Nationally Board-Certified teacher and was a Title 1 and Reading Recovery® teacher for many years. I have taught kindergarten, first, and fourth grades as a classroom teacher. I strive to be a reflective thinker and believe that learning should be both fun and challenging. My husband and I have been married for 24 years. We have 3 daughters – all of whom went to Hugh Mercer! We love to learn, read, travel, camp, and just have fun together.
