July 4th Race

Parents and students! I will be running in the Heritage Festival 5 Mile race starting and finishing at the Visitor’s Center in Downtown Fredericksburg. The race is on Wednesday, July 4 and starts at 7:45am. I’ll be finished a little after 8:10. If you’re in town and coming to the Heritage Festival, I’d love to see you and your students!

Goodbye to all the Fredericksburg teachers and families who I’ve had the pleasure of working with these last six years. Good luck to all of my previous students; my first class is moving on to high school and my last class on to 4th grade. I will miss you all!

Famous Americans Test

We will have a test on Famous Americans and Patriotic Holidays on Tuesday, May 22. Please review the study guide that went home last week and the interactive notes. The test will cover George Washington, Thomas Jefferson, Abe Lincoln, Rosa Parks, Martin Luther King, Jr., Thurgood Marshal, Cesar Chavez, Memorial Day, and Veterans Day.

Marine Corps Historic Half-Marathon

On Sunday I will be running the Marine Corps Historic Half-Marathon. It starts at 7:00am at Wegmans. The race is 13.1 miles and runs through the streets of Fredericksburg. I have attached a map of the course. Many roads will be closed during the race.

If you will be watching the race, I hope to see you on the course. I’ll be wearing bright orange and should be amongst the top runners. My race pace will be about 5 minutes and 30 seconds per mile. I’ve included my expected time per mile, so you’ll know when to expect me.
